Fourth Grade News...

Dear Parents,
We have had the chance to review and analyze the CRCT scores from last year. As a grade level, there is a deficit among the multiplication and problem solving skills. Now that the problems are noted, we will begin working on a solution to the problems. Beginning next week, we will begin practicing and memorizing multiplication facts. Our goal is to have all 144 facts memorized by October 3, 2008. With support from home, we feel that this is a reasonable goal. Once students know all of the facts, within 3 seconds, he or she will become a more successful mathematician. Below you will find a week by week guide for what we will be studying. Your child should already be comfortable with most of these facts.

*Each student will need to study the facts nightly! The use of flashcards has provided students with the most success in the past. Please make flash cards and keep them at home for your child to study.
