Fifth Grade News...
Fifth Grade is off to a great start!!
Our students are doing a good job of learning our rules and procedures. We are currently studying Earth Processes in Science. We are really enjoying our new textbooks and hands-on science materials. Our reading books start off with a theme called "Nature’s Fury". This parallels our study of Earth Processes. In Math, we began with a review of place value using whole numbers and decimal numbers.
Fifth graders started the D.A.R.E. program this month and are very eager to continue learning with Corporal Wade Freeman. D.A.R.E. will be held on a weekly basis. Please ask your child about the skills they are learning in D.A.R.E.
As a 5th grade team, we believe that teachers, students, and families must work together in order to ensure success. We ask that each 5th grader read daily for at least 20 minutes and spend time each night mastering their multiplication facts.
Thank you for all the supplies and support you have given this year. Please feel free to email or call with any questions.
Reminders:
Parents should be signing agendas on a daily basis.
Behavior Logs are to be signed and returned each Thursday.
