Eastside High School graduate, Lacey Powell, will receive her American FFA Degree later this month at the National FFA Convention.  Lacey is currently a junior at the University of Georgia.  Powell is majoring in Agricultural Education with the goal of becoming an agriculture teacher. She competed in a variety of Career Development Events including Livestock Judging, Meats Judging (placing 2nd in state), was President of the FFA, and exhibited beef cows. 

The American Degree is the highest honor bestowed upon FFA members. In order to earn the American Degree you must have earned the State FFA Degree, been an FFA member for 3 years, worked an excess of 2, 250 hours in the Supervised Agricultural Experience program, and completed at least 50 community service hours.  

Lacey’s agriculture teachers were Abby Brown and Stephanie Summerlin.
