Newton County School System is pleased to announce that Ginn Motor Company has donated a Dodge pickup truck for our school system’s Agriculture Education program.

“Ginn Commercial/Ginn Motor Company is honored to support the Newton County FFA and help encourage young adults in ‘Learning to do, Doing to learn, Earning to live, Living to serve,’” said Durant Dobbs, Ginn Motor Company Fleet Sales Consultant. “With the donation of a Dodge RAM 4500, Ginn hopes to continue support of an association that appreciates not only the agriculture industry, but also the young adults that seek education within that industry.”

According to Marcus Pollard, Newton College & Career Academy (NCCA) FFA Sponsor, there are over 500 students participating in the NCSS agriculture education program.

“Our agricultural education program is going through a period of growth,” said Pollard. “Without this gift from Ginn Motors, we would not be able to best serve the students of our community with their various livestock projects and needs.”

Pollard explained that this truck will make a huge impact on the school system’s agriculture program.

“There are a number of uses for this truck, but the most important one will be so we can hook up to trailers and pull livestock,” he said. “We had ten different students this year with cow projects and we anticipate close to 20 next year.  We also had close to 30 pigs this year and this number may grow as well.”

“Our agriculture students and teachers are amazingly hard workers,” added Tim Schmitt, Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education Coordinator for Newton County School System.  “They spend countless hours on various projects and competitions and the truck Ginn has provided supports those efforts in a way that we wouldn’t be able to do on our own.  I am grateful that Newton County is home to Ginn and other partners like them that are willing to go the extra mile for our programs.”
