The Newton County School System is reviewing materials for an upcoming elementary science textbook adoption and would like stakeholder input. Parents may visit the links below to review materials from two publishers under consideration—Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt and McGraw-Hill. Materials from both publishers may also be viewed at each of the elementary schools and at the Newton County School System Board Office, during normal business hours.  After reviewing the science materials under consideration, Newton County School System asks parents to take a brief survey at the link listed to provide input. Any questions or concerns about the science textbook adoption for grades kindergarten through fifth grade should be directed to Ms. Ebony Smith, elementary curriculum and instruction specialist, at Please note that the survey will close at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
