The Newton Foundation for Educational Excellence  is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fall 2013 ReImagine Newton Classroom Grants.  In October, the Foundation announced that it would fund grants at each school level- elementary school, middle school, and high school. Any Newton County School System teacher could apply for the grants, which could be used to pay for a wide variety of innovative instructional projects and materials.  “Our volunteer Board works hard to raise private funds from the community to give to our educators for deserving projects,” said Board Chair Hillary Edgar, “We have the privilege of seeing the great ideas that all of our applicants have and at the same time, have the difficult task of choosing the grant winners.”  The Foundation received twenty applications from deserving teachers across the Newton County School System.  Dr. Jami Berry, Grant Sub-Committee Member, stated, “The committee members were extremely impressed by the scope of this year’s proposals and were thrilled to be able to fund four grants during this cycle.  The funded grants will touch students at every grade level using technology and life skills to enhance instruction across the curriculum.” The Foundation awarded six thousand dollars in grants to the following teachers and projects:
