Welcome to Alcovy, Newton County's newest school.

Our school has 82 classrooms and core facilities to serve approximately 2,500 students. We welcome and encourage parent and community involvement and are looking forward to a great 2008-2009 school year.


Please check our School Report Card issued by the Georgia State Department of Education. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and will continue to focus on methods to improve student achievement.

Parents and students may access the High School Handbook to read information regarding our policies and procedures.

Congratulations to Martha Bouts for being selected as Alcovy High School's 2007 - 2008 Teacher of the Year .

For information regarding scheduling procedures, please see our FAQ information sheet.

CA-MRSA :
No cases of MRSA have been found at Alcovy High School. To assist with the prevention and spread of CA-MRSA, we are providing you with information from the GA Department of Human Resources. For additional information regarding staph infections or CA-MRSA visit www.health.state.ga.us.

Students and parents:
In accordance with the Newton County School System Board Policy, students must pass ALL portions of the GHSGT to participate in graduate ceremonies.

Dresscode
Students, please refer to the student handbook for proper dresscode guidelines.

Forms
Students, please turn in Acceptable Use Forms and Medical Forms as soon as possible. Logins will be disabled for those not turning in their Acceptable Use Form. Students will not be allowed to check-out if they do not have current Medical Forms on file.



StudentTrack - an electronic method for parents to stay informed of their student's progress in school. StudentTrack is available to all parents or guardians of Newton County School students. Parents can logon to StudentTrack and get current information (updated nightly) on attendance, discipline, class schedules, and grades and assignments.

E-Learn - is a virtual learning environment designed to enhance the educational experience by providing online interaction and access to course resources from any internet-connected computer.
