AHS Counseling Department Mission Statement:
In partnership with parents and the school community, the mission of the Alcovy High School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that facilitates development in the academic, personal/social, and career planning realms. The goal of the AHS Counseling Department is promote students in becoming an active participant in today's global society.

AHS Counseling Department Philosophy Statement:
Our philosophy is that all students have equal access to a comprehensive school counseling program that is an important and essential part of the overall educational experience. The Counseling Department at Alcovy High School believes that academic career, and personal/social goals can be achieved by every student. Essential to our philosophy is the belief that collaboration between school counselors, educators, parents, and community members will ensure that the needs and goals of every student are addressed so that each student can achieve life-long success.

The counseling department at Alcovy High School will provide:
• A counseling program that is comprehensive and meets the developmental, academic, and personal/social needs of every student.
• Programs in the academic, personal/social and career domains in order to meet the standards and competencies outlined in the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model.
• A counseling staff that is attentive to and invested in the needs and personal, academic, and career goals of all students.
