An entrepreneur with four children and three grandchildren, Mr. Rickie Corley serves as the District 2 representative for the Newton County Board of Education.

A life-long resident of Newton County, Mr. Corley decided to run for the Board due to his strong family roots in the county's educational system. "I wanted to do my part for education in Newton County since it has been such a strong influence in the lives of numerous Corley generations," said Mr. Corley. "I hope that while serving on the Board I have made a good thing better."

With an education in business management, Mr. Corley is employed as an auto technician. He is actively involved in the Julia A. Porter UMC, the Gideons International and serves on the scout committee for Boy Scouts.

While serving on the Board, Mr. Corley's major emphasis has been on school safety. He initiated the installation of video cameras for safety reasons on all school buses. Mr. Corley has been strict on issues dealing with school discipline and violence.
