BOARD MEMBER COMPENSATION AND EXPENSES
Date: JANUARY 4, 1999

All members of the Newton County Board of Education shall be compensated in the amount of $600 per month.

All members shall also receive reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred in carrying out their official duties when authorized by the Board.

Newly elected Board members may attend New Board Member Training Sessions prior to assuming office at the expense of the Newton County Board of Education. Registration fees and expenses of such Board members are legal expenditures for the local Board of Education.

Board members must submit their accounts on authorized expense forms for travel and other expenses to the County Superintendent of Schools for approval and payment.

All such compensation must be paid solely from local school tax funds.
