RULES OF ORDER
Date: JANUARY 4, 1999

The Newton County Board of Education shall rely on Robert's Rules of Order (current edition) in connection with the making and seconding of motions and other procedural matters. The rules contained therein shall govern all cases except where State and local policy dictate other procedures.

This policy shall not be construed to mean that failure to conform to parliamentary usage will invalidate actions taken by the Board when a requisite number of members have agreed to a particular matter. A governing procedure will not be suspended except by majority vote of the full Board.
