PUBLIC GIFTS TO SCHOOLS

It shall be the policy of the Newton County Board of Education that the superintendent or designee is authorized to accept or deny donations to the school system from any source, including booster clubs.

In accepting any donations of items or services to the athletic programs of the school system, the superintendent or designee shall establish a valuation of the donation and may request from the donor a valuation or an accounting of actual costs incurred regarding the donation. The superintendent or designee also may set a valuation for donations to other programs as appropriate or required for accounting purposes.

The Newton County Board of Education has the final authority to override all decisions relative to acceptance or rejection of donations of items or services.
