Ms. Ramonda Middlebrooks

 

Romonda Middlebrooks was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and is a product of the Atlanta Public Schools System.  She is a second generation educator and attended primary school where her mother taught before retiring after 31 years of service.  She graduated from Northside High School of the Performing Arts and received a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia.  She earned her Master’s degree in Consumer Economics from UGA and a Specialist in Instructional Technology from Georgia State University.

Ms. Middlebrooks is in her 16th year in education.  She taught Language Arts and Social Studies several years in Atlanta Public Schools and served as the Gifted Coordinator before becoming the system’s Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2000.  She served as Instructional Liaison Specialist for 3 years before moving to Rockdale County and returning to her first love:  teaching in the classroom.  Ms. Middlebrooks taught Social Studies one year and Language Arts in the gifted classroom at Clements Middle School before going back into Administration.  She served at Clements as Assistant Principal for one year before moving to Cousins Middle School in 2008.  Ms. Middlebrooks is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and the Georgia Association of Educators.

“As a person called into the field of education, I knew as a teacher that I had to reach my students by any means necessary.  As an administrator, I feel my job is to support teachers by providing them with the resources needed to educate.  Helping students to learn and become productive members of society is our primary goal.  It is my hope that everything I do pushes us toward meeting that goal.”
