Superintendent Fuhrey Announces Winners of Winter Card Art Contest!

With so many outstanding submissions to choose from it was impossible for Newton County School System (NCSS) Superintendent Samantha Fuhrey to pick just one piece of artwork to feature on her official 2017 holiday card. In fact, she couldn’t even pick just two or three. Instead, forty pictures created by Newton County School System students will be featured on 20 different cards to be mailed to local elected and community officials, superintendents from surrounding school districts, and the many other supporters of Newton County Schools on Ms. Fuhrey’s holiday card
list.

Each week the Newton County School System features two high school seniors who have received recognition for being a Scholar of the Week! In order to be eligible, students must be a high school senior, be in good standing with their school, have a cumulative GPA of 90 or higher, and be nominated by their school counselor with the approval of the school principal.
