From the Principal

Indian Creek Middle School was established in 1997 as a part of the Newton County School System. ICMS is located in the city of Covington, Georgia, an eastern metropolitan area of Atlanta. The faculty and staff at Indian Creek Middle School dedicates itself to the success of all students. As we bridge the gap between elementary and high school, we have the important task of keeping each student academically successful. We will not forget that the school belongs to our community and its citizens. Therefore, we want all our parents and students to feel ownership. It is our pledge to you that we will emphasize academics, safety, and moral character. We need every home in the community to join with us in this endeavor!

GA Milestones Testing

Testing begins Monday, April 18 for 8th grade students only. This year, all 8th graders will test online. 6th and 7th grade will begin testing Monday, April 25 using paper and pencil. Please help your child be prepared by making sure they get plenty of rest the night before and eat breakfast the day of testing.

The Georgia Milestones End of Grade test replaced the CRCT test in the 2014-2015 school year. To learn more about the test and how to interpret your student's results, click here.

Student Promotion and Retention Policy

Mrs. Raines' Language Arts classes just completed an interdisciplinary unit on argumentative writing and waste production at ICMS. On Wednesday, March 30, the students had a STEM Day where they presented their findings to parents and guests. Thank you to all parents, administrators, and County Office personnel who took part in the day. Click here for photos.

STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) education seeks to develop critical thinkers and students who can work collaboratively to problem solve. Indian Creek now has a 6th grade team exploring the STEM initiative. Learn more about STEM as we expand our offerings and programming.

Using the Email/Office 365 link at the top of the page, all students and staff have online access to Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Simply login with a county assigned email address. Student email addresses are the NCSS username (last name, first initial, middle initial, MMDD of birth) (ex: Passwords are whatever the student has set his/her password to be. Want more?
