From the Principal

Indian Creek Middle School was established in 1997 as a part of the Newton County School System. ICMS is located in the city of Covington, Georgia, an eastern metropolitan area of Atlanta. The faculty and staff at Indian Creek Middle School dedicates itself to the success of all students. As we bridge the gap between elementary and high school, we have the important task of keeping each student academically successful. We will not forget that the school belongs to our community and its citizens. Therefore, we want all our parents and students to feel ownership. It is our pledge to you that we will emphasize academics, safety, and moral character. We need every home in the community to join with us in this endeavor!

Georgia Milestones Test

The CRCT will no longer be administered to students. Instead, your student will now take the Georgia Milestones test each year. The test is very different from the CRCT. Learn in-depth about the test here and then read a parent's guide to the test.

Testing will be moving online. Does your student need to improve his or her typing skills? Try Typing Web, Free Typing, Good Typing, and Sense-Lang for typing practice.

Yearbooks

You can now begin ordering your yearbook. The cost is $32 (add $5 for a name stamp). Call 1-866-287-3096 or click here to order. The school order number is 15503. Contact Vicki Meeler with questions.

Media Center Wins Award

Indian Creek Middle School Media Center, run by Media Specialist Lori McGovern, is one of three programs statewide to receive the Library Media Program Exemplary Award by the Georgia Library Media Association and Georgia Library Association. The GLMA/GLA Exemplary Library Media Program is the highest recognition for library programs and demonstrates how library programs are meeting school improvement goals as well as increasing student achievement. Indian Creek Middle School is the first Newton County School to ever receive this distinguished recognition.
