Livingston Elementary is tucked away in the Southwestern portion of Covington, Georgia. What was once a small rural school has felt the impact of urban sprawl. Since its founding in 1884, Livingston has undergone constant transformation. In recent years the rate of change has accelerated. What was once an agriculturally based community has become one of manufacturing, service industries, and retail trade.

Livingston includes pre-kindergarten through grade five. For 2008-2009 our enrollment is approximately 655. We have 50 teachers comprised of 34 homeroom teachers, a speech teacher, a media specialist, a counselor, a PE teacher, an art teacher, a music teacher and 3 resource teachers. Livingston's four-year old pre-kindergarten program is staffed by two teachers and two paraprofessionals. Instructional aides assist kindergarten teachers. The school is administered by a principal and 1 assistant principal. Over half of the faculty has a Master's or Specialist degree and several teachers are currently enrolled in graduate programs. There are three National Board Certified teachers at Livingston. With a staff of this size and training, Livingston is well equipped to provide a quality educational experience for children with a variety of needs.

Livingston's physical facility is comprised of three corridors separated by garden areas and a cafeteria. The garden areas which separate our building halls were both established as a result of grants applied for and received by two of our faculty members. These gardens serve not only as aesthetic enhancements but as working outdoor learning centers for our students.
