Parents, businesses, church and community members, NHS will be having a “Gang Awareness 101 Informational” on Thursday, October 23rd at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Please come out and learn how gangs are affecting Covington communities. Get the questions you have answered!!! The Newton County Sheriff's Office along with other departments will be presenting dynamic information regarding gangs in Newton County. Come eat, drink & win prizes!

Parents, if you are logging on to Student Track to change your residence or to change guardianship you will need to bring in proof to Mrs. Brown in the Student Service Center before it can be changed. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Brown at 770-787-2250 ext 5524

Students in 10th-12th grade - if you have not picked up your Ram Rewards Card, please stop by 63 before school, during your lunch, or after school. This card is based on last semester's grades and discipline.

Seniors – Please be sure to give Dr. Lawyer a copy of all college acceptance letters and scholarship offers. Students are recognized on honor’s night regarding scholarships. If you scored at least 1100 in Math/Reading on the SAT or at least 24 on the ACT and are interested in attending Georgia Southern University, see Dr. Lawyer. See. Dr. Lawyer for a list of all scholarships that are being offered.

Yearbook - purchase your in room 58 in the morning or after school or 117A during your lunch. Deadline is Nov. 1st.

GHSGT - there are only two weeks before the GHSGT. You must pass this test in order to graduate. If you have failed any area of the test, it is time to start preparing now for the retake. NHS will be offering a remediation prep on Saturdays. This will be an intensive two day program. Dates will be Oct. 25th and Nov. 1st. Please see Ms. Taylor, our graduation coach to sign-up.



4 Quarters 4 Research - the Amicae club will be collecting quarters at Friday's Homecoming game. This charity raises money for pancreatic cancer research.

Soccer - boys - if you are interested please attend an informational meeting in Coach Hebert's room Friday morning at 8:10am.

Change Agents is sponsoring a book drive to benefit the Learning Center. Please bring all books to your 1st period teacher. The winning class gets a donut breakfast.

Homecoming dance 2008 - A Night in New Orleans - Oct 25th from 8-11pm in the gym. Tickets are $8. Purchase in room 13 before or after school only. You MUST have a student ID to attend the dance.

Basketball practice for boys starts Oct 27th. Conditioning starts Oct 20th. You must have a current physical on file by Friday to take part next week.

Senior hoodies - see Ms. Greer in room 39. They are $25.00. Faculty shirts should be in this week. Please pay Mrs. Greer if you have not already paid.

Spirit Week - 0ct 20th - 24th - Monday is Rock Star Day, Tuesday is Tacky Day, Wednesday is Decades Day, Thursday is Class Color Day (freshman- orange, sophomore - green, junior - white, senior - red, and Friday is blue & white day.

Beta Club is selling Candy BooGrams all week to raise money for the Relay for Life. Prices are 75 cents for one or two for $1.



Lady Rams basketball - tryouts are after school at 3:45p. You must have a physical on file to tryout.
