“Proud to Be Newton County's First Charter School Serving Middle and High School Students”
In February 2008, the Georgia State Board of Education and Newton County School System approved The Challenge Foundation’s petition to open a charter school for middle school and high school students in Newton County. Challenge Charter Academy is tuition free, open-enrollment school with a structured environment offering smaller classroom sizes to serve students that have not been reaching their full academic potential in a traditional school setting.

Special Features: RESPECT - the purpose of the RESPECT Program is to teach students the skills to manage their own behavior, build positive relationships and be responsible for their own learning. By developing these skills, students are better able to make responsible decisions and handle challenging situations. Success, in school and life, depends on having these essential skills.
Through multiple partnerships CCA will have special features, such as: a supplemental curriculum that incorporates project-based learning projects to enhance the learning and implementation of the GPS; the partnership with the Department of Labor will enhance the career development program to prepare all students for the 21st century workforce and post-secondary education.
