2008 Middle School Summer School

Academic Course Recovery

(by fee only)

 
Dates:   June 2-26, 2008 (Monday-Thursday)
     
Location:   Clements Middle School
     
For:   Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student who fails two or three courses for the entire year with a grade of 62-69. A maximum of two courses may be taken in summer school. Courses will be available in language arts, math, science and social studies.

If a parent chooses to participate in one of the above out-of-county options, it is the parent's responsibility to enroll the student in the correct class and to request that an official transcript showing successful course completion be mailed to the Newton County Board of Education. The official transcript must be provided to the Middle School Curriculum Director no later than July 21, 2008. Failure to provide the official transcript by July 21 may result in the student being retained. CRCT Remediation

CRCT remediation will be offered for the 8th grade students who don't score at least 800 on both the Reading and Math portion of the 2008 CRCT.

NOTE: The students who don't score the minimum 800 MUST take the CRCt re-test which will be held at Clements Middle School on June 24 (Reading) and June 25 (Math). More information will be forthcoming regarding this optional remediation program.
