Dear
Parents,
It is hard to believe that there are only 43
more days left of school and only 11 more
instructional days before the CRCT. The CRCT
begins Tuesday, April 10th for all students in
grades three through five. Testing will be
spread out over two weeks (Ending on April 19th)
this year, which is a change from how it has
been administered in the past. All students must
be in their seats by 7:40 a.m., and testing will
begin at 8:00 a.m. Anyone not in their seat at
7:40 a.m. will have to take a make up test! It
is equally important for your child to be here
every day. I know that this is an anxious time
for everyone, and we all want the children to do
their very best on the CRCT. The following tips
have proven successful in the past during
testing:
1. Have your child here every day and on time.
2. Make sure that your child gets a good night’s
rest.
3. Make sure your child has a healthy breakfast;
please avoid excessive sugar.
4. Do whatever you can to relieve test anxiety
for your child. The children know this test is
important; encourage them to do their best.
5. Reassure your child that he/she is prepared.
6. Pick your battles! Try to avoid arguments in
the mornings, for example…over what your child
is wearing…in order for your child’s morning to
run as smoothly as possible.
7. Keep your daily routine as normal as
possible.
I’m confident that with your help, testing will
run smoothly. The teachers have worked very hard
to prepare the children for this test by
teaching the state standards and objectives. I
also want to thank you, the parents, for all
that you have done to prepare your children for
this week. You are your child’s first teacher,
and we appreciate your continued support as we
work with you to engage your child through
quality instruction so that he/she can
experience academic, social, and emotional
growth.
Sincerely,
Holly H. Dubois
