July 29, 2016
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Veterans Memorial Middle School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the staff and students for the 2016-2017 school year.
During these past few weeks, I have had many interactions with parents, teachers and students. From these conversations, it is clear there is a collegial partnership between all stakeholders to provide the best possible academic experience for our students. I look forward to fostering these relationships and working with teachers and staff to provide a world-class educational experience for each child.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for 17 years with a specific concentration in early childhood education, and educational leadership. My most recent administrative experience has been shaped by seven years of successful leadership as an Elementary Principal, six years as an elementary Assistant Principal, and three years as a classroom teacher. I am elated to bring my skills as an educational leader to Veterans Memorial Middle School and to work with you as you express concerns, volunteer, and partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue to establish lifelong learners, and make a difference in the lives of the students. We will focus on Positive Behavioral Intervention & Support (PBIS) initiatives, Common Core standards, use of data to inform instruction, consistent implementation of instructional strategies to increase students’ achievement, and providing exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.
This year is going to be awesome as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant and builds relationships. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors—teachers, students and parents—are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet! Thank you in advance for your support.
