It is our
pleasure to serve the staff, teachers, and students in the
role of Counselors at West Newton Elementary. Our goal is
to help the students reach their full potential
academically, socially, and emotionally. We want all of our
students to become responsible, successful citizens.
Through classroom guidance lessons, small group
participation, and individual sessions we hope to reach our
goals.
Positive
recognition and reinforcement is essential in motivating
students to do their best. Activities such as: Student
of the Month, Character Education, Perfect Attendance
Recognition, Positive Phone Calls, and Mentoring are
available to help our students maximize their potential. .
Parents are encouraged to actively participate in their
child’s education. Here are some suggestions of ways to
volunteer; Red Ribbon Week, Career Day, Mentoring, PTO,
Parent/Teacher Conferences, etc. The more involved you are
in a child’s education, the greater the opportunity for your
child to succeed. We look forward to seeing you at West
Newton Elementary. |
