The Newton County Schools Athletic Program is comprised of five middle schools (grades 6-8) and three high (9-12) schools. The following is a list of interscholastic sports offered in NCS:

Middle school students are allowed to participate in sports in all grades (6-8). Middle School sports are governed under the New Rock League Constitution. Middle school students have the option to try-out for the junior varsity high school sport if the team is not offered at the middle school level. The student must tryout and his/her zoned high school. Exceptions to this rule will be considered individually, considering factors like the availability of a spot on the team and the students’ ability to compete at the junior varsity level.
