NCSS Requests Parent, Teacher, and Stakeholder Input on Secondary Science Textbook Adoption Materials

The Newton County School System is reviewing materials for an upcoming middle and high school science textbook adoption and would like stakeholder input. Parents, teachers, students, and community members may visit the links below to review materials from publishers under consideration – Cengage/National Geographic, McGraw-Hill, Savvas Learning, Bedford/Freeman/Worth, HMH, and STEM Scopes.
Materials from these publishers may be reviewed at each of the middle and high schools and at the Newton County School System Board Office during normal business hours.
After reviewing the science materials under consideration, the Newton County School System asks stakeholders to take a brief survey at the designated link below.
Any questions or concerns about the science textbook adoption for grades sixth through twelfth should be directed to Dr. Vicki Meeler at

Please note that the surveys will close at 11:59 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025.
