Dr. Quinita Morrow Named NCS 2026 Teacher of the Year

Dr. Quinita MorrowAlcovy High School’s marketing teacher, Dr. Quinita Morrow, is Newton County Schools’ 2026 Teacher of the Year! She will now represent Newton County Schools in the Georgia Teacher of the Year Program. Dr. Morrow’s prizes included $1,000 cash and a crystal award from the Newton County Chamber of Commerce and a free three-month car rental from Covington Ford.

Dr. Catrina Pollard of Eastside High School and Ms. Kamara Whitening of Veterans Memorial Middle School were this year’s runners up. They each received a crystal award from the Newton County Chamber of Commerce.

“This is truly an honor,” said Dr. Morrow after the ceremony. “I am speechless and so humbled that people thought so fond of me and all the things I’m doing for my kids. I was up against some amazing educators so I’m truly humbled by this experience and just taking it all in right now.”

Dr. Morrow has served as the marketing instructor at Alcovy High School since July 2022. Before joining Alcovy, she taught marketing at Luella High School from 2017 to 2022 and began her teaching career at Newton High School, where she taught marketing from 2007 to 2017.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Albany State University in 2005, followed by a Master of Science in Management from Troy University in 2006. In 2019, Dr. Morrow completed her Doctor of Business Administration in Business Management at Walden University.

“Dr. Quinita Morrow represents the very best of Newton County Schools,” said Newton County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Duke Bradley, III. “She brings real-world experience into the classroom and inspires her students to see new possibilities for their future. Her ability to connect with students, challenge them academically, and prepare them for life after graduation is what makes her an outstanding educator. We are proud to celebrate her as our 2026 Teacher of the Year and confident that she will serve as an excellent representative for our district at the state level.”
