Newton County Schools is aware of an emergency situation at Georgia State University’s Newton Campus on Highway 11 in eastern Newton County. Due to increased law enforcement activity in the area, some school buses are being rerouted. As a result, students who live in or travel through that area may arrive home later than usual this afternoon. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
