Academy of Liberal Arts Program at Newton High School (ALANHS) Announces Application Period for 2026-2027 School Year
The Academy of Liberal Arts at Newton High School (ALANHS) is currently accepting registration for the 2026-2027 school year. Newton County School System students currently enrolled in eighth grade, whose parents reside in Newton County, are eligible to apply.
ALANHS is an intense four-year academic experience that prepares students for college and their future careers by focusing on academics, leadership development, and community service. In addition, ALANHS scholars focus on liberal arts pathways to enhance their creativity skills and sharpen their critical thinking skills. The following liberal arts pathways are offered in ALANHS social science, language arts, performing arts (band, chorus, dance, theatre), and visual arts.
The ALANHS application link below will open on December 10, 2025. The deadline to complete and submit an ALANHS application is January 16, 2026 at 3:00 pm. Prospective students will be contacted via email with information about ALANHS interviews, which are held on February 7, 2026. The total number of students being accepted into the 2026-2027 ALANHS Cohort is limited to 56 students. Finalists will be notified on February 13, 2026, and must confirm acceptance no later than March 20, 2026.
