Newton County Schools will release students early on Friday, August 21, 2026, for a scheduled Teacher Workday.
Students will be dismissed according to the following schedule:
• Elementary school and Newton County STEAM Academy students will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m.
• High school students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
• Middle school students will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m.
Lunch will be served at schools before students are dismissed. Students who normally ride a school bus home in the afternoon will be transported to their regular bus stops.
Students will return to school on their regular schedules on Monday, August 24, 2026.
