Dear Newton County Schools families,
I hope this message finds you safe following the storm that passed through our community last evening. Our thoughts are with those who may have experienced hardship overnight, including the loss of power, downed trees, or damaged power lines.
I am writing to let you know that we have deployed members of our operations team throughout the district to assess the condition of our schools and bus passageways. Their primary goal is to ensure safety and readiness for when our students return. In collaboration with local officials, we are also actively identifying trouble spots within our community and providing support where necessary. We recognize that the damage related to such weather events may not always be immediately apparent, but we will continue to communicate any updates as necessary. Your safety is our top priority, and so we urge everyone to heed public warnings and to remain off the roads as much as possible until conditions improve.
We also want to hear from you. Please kindly direct any information requests to our Director of Public Relations, Mrs. Sherri Partee who can be contacted at
[email protected]. For easier identification, please include “Hurricane Support” in the heading of your note. You should know that it is critically important that the district remain a valuable community resource, connecting you with useful and necessary information. To that end, please take note of the following:
