Newton County Schools will dismiss students early on Friday, December 19, 2025, due to a scheduled teacher workday.
Student dismissal times on December 19 will be as follows:

Elementary Schools and the STEAM Academy: 11:15 a.m.
•
High Schools: 12:15 p.m.
•
Middle Schools: 1:15 p.m.
Lunch will be served at all schools prior to dismissal. Students who normally ride school buses in the afternoon will be transported to their regular bus stops.
Friday, December 19, marks the last day of school for students before the Winter Holiday Break. All Newton County Schools and district offices will be closed through Friday, January 2, 2026.
Monday, January 5, 2026, is a scheduled teacher workday, and there will be no school for students. The Newton County Schools Central Office will reopen on Monday, January 5.
Students will return to school for the start of the second semester on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
