We are excited to share the first installment of our Quarterly Report, highlighting the progress made during the first quarter of the 2024-2025 school year. This report reflects our district's commitment to transparency and accountability as we work toward the goals set by our Board of Education.

We're also happy to share a message from our Superintendent, Dr. Duke Bradley, who shares insights on the foundational work being done in the areas of Academics, Operations, and Culture and Engagement.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to make Newton County Schools the fastest improving school district in Georgia!

Letter from Dr. Bradley:

Dear Parents and Staff,

I am pleased to share with you our District’s Quarter 1, Quarterly Report - a summary of the progress that we have made toward the goals approved by our Board of Education. This report reflects our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement as we work to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students and for our school district.

As you may recall from my 90 Day Report presented last February, our work is currently focused on three key areas: Academics, Operations, and Culture and Engagement. These pillars guide our efforts as we move toward the aspiration of being the fastest improving school district in Georgia. To that end, it is important to note that this year, we are engaged in foundational work by creating the conditions for future success.

One of the ways we are ensuring clear communication with our community is through our new quarterly reporting structure. This effort is designed to enhance transparency by providing you with a coherent and thorough update on our progress and achievements. This approach aligns with the best practices of complex organizations which includes a distinct reporting structure that we will continue to refine.

I would also like to acknowledge that our journey so far has not been without challenges. This year has presented some disruptions, including Hurricane Helene, the chemical plant fire, and the aftermath of the tragic events at Apalachee High School. Despite these incidents, our staff has remained focused on our goals and continued to move forward. Their dedication in the face of adversity is to be commended.

As we move forward, we will continue to provide quarterly reports to keep you informed of our progress. At the end of the year, we will also release an annual report that will offer a comprehensive review of our accomplishments.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Sincerely,
Duke
