NCS High Schools to Host Informational Sessions for Parents of 8th Graders Transitioning to High School
Each Newton County high school will host a special in-person informational session for parents of current 8th-grade students transitioning to high school. Parents should attend the high school to which their child is zoned. During the meeting, parents will hear from the high school leader, learn about ninth-grade courses, and receive instructions on selecting electives for the 2026-2027 school year. The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
The Elective Survey for 2026-2027 will be emailed to parents on February 6, 2026, after 5:00 PM. Students and parents will collaborate to select three elective choices, which must be completed by February 13, 2026. Additionally, parents are encouraged to create a parent portal account through Infinite Campus if they haven't done so already, as this will facilitate their involvement in high school course decisions.
