The NCCA STEM Institute will begin accepting applications February 21, 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year. A link to the application, which must be completed and submitted electronically by Friday, March 4, 2022, will be posted on the STEM Institute website, Newton College & Career Academy website and the Newton County School System website.
NCCA STEM recruits rising freshman with a strong interest in engineering or healthcare as a future career choice. While students may vary in their background and represent the diversity of Newton County’s population, they are similar in their motivation to achieve academically and in their determination to prepare for professional careers and positions of leadership. Students will achieve this through exposure to a unique curriculum combined with project-based/problem-based learning.
NCCA STEM Institute will review all applications submitted by the deadline. All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will receive a confirmation email as well as a link to schedule an interview. All interviews will be held virtually and are scheduled on March 18-19, 2022. After the interview process is complete, NCCA STEM Institute will email letters to all candidates selected on April 15, 2022. Students must confirm acceptance by April 22, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. The total number of students being accepted into the 2022-2023 STEM Freshman Cohort has been limited to 56.
