Welcome to the Newton County Library Media Center!
Our Library Media Center is the heartbeat of each Newton County school, supporting the curriculum and serving all students, teachers, and staff. Here, accessibility to resources and collaborative planning between media staff, teachers, and administrators are key to maximizing media resources for student achievement. Our collections are tailored to reflect each school’s unique needs and are diverse in content and format. We believe fostering a love for reading and an appreciation for books are essential components of an outstanding educational program. Our media program emphasizes the importance of using current technologies to access, evaluate, and effectively utilize information.
Read Across Newton Initiative
The Instructional Technology and Media Services' Read Across Newton initiative aims to cultivate a positive literacy culture within our community. We connect students and families to engaging literacy experiences that inspire a love for reading all year round. Students can join monthly book clubs at each school, and every February, the Read Across Newton Extravaganza brings families together for a day filled with literacy-based games and activities for all ages. Throughout the year, additional events further promote the power of literacy and foster a culture of positivity about reading in our community.
