The Newton County Board of Education is composed of five elected members who serve as the governing body of Newton County Schools. Representing districts across the county, board members are elected to four-year terms and are responsible for establishing policies that support the effective operation and continuous improvement of the school district.
In addition to their governance responsibilities, board members remain actively engaged with the schools and communities they serve by attending school events, recognizing student and staff achievements, and participating in district activities throughout the year. Their service reflects a shared commitment to providing educational excellence for all students.
The Superintendent serves as the ex officio secretary of the Board of Education.
