Newton County School System + Hazel Health
Newton County School System has partnered with Hazel Health, a leader in school-based telehealth, to give all K–12 students access to free physical and mental health care.
Mental Health Services:
Students can talk with a licensed therapist through virtual therapy sessions at school or at home. Hazel therapists help students manage stress, anxiety, sadness, and more, so they feel better and ready to learn.
Physical Health Services:
Students can also get care for things like sore throats, fevers, rashes, and more from home. Parents can schedule a virtual visit with a Hazel doctor or nurse practitioner. They may recommend over-the-counter medicine or even send a prescription to a local pharmacy.
Hazel services are
no cost to families. If a student has insurance, Hazel may bill it, but families will
never pay a co-pay or deductible. Families must give permission (consent) before services can begin.
Hazel helps schools improve attendance, learning, and student well-being by ensuring every student has access to the care they need.
