Students who will be in grades six through twelve next year are encouraged to “JumpStart 2022” by participating in the district’s free, Summer Enrichment programs. According to Ms. Shundreia Neely, Newton County School System Secondary Curriculum & Instruction Director, the summer enrichment program will be offered for students to attend, in-person, at Veterans Memorial Middle School for rising 6th-8th graders and at Newton College and Career Academy Stem Building for rising 9th -12th graders. The program will take place June 6 – June 16.
“JumpStart is designed to provide students with an opportunity to explore new subjects and interests, develop new skills and close gaps. This program can assist students with transitioning from elementary school to middle school and from middle school to high school,” Neely explained. Courses vary per program location.
Newton County Schools will offer online registration for the JumpStart 2022 Summer Enrichment program from April 21 through May 5.
