Newton County School System (NCSS) will soon celebrate its 150th anniversary; the district has been providing educational opportunities for children in Newton County since February 7, 1871. As we near this milestone, Newton County Schools is planning special celebrations to coincide with the special date.

Throughout the month of February, Newton County Schools will showcase student artwork designed to promote the school system’s anniversary celebration. Submission topics should include the anniversary date. Students may include/reflect additional themes such as the Board of Education, schools, special accomplishments, NCSS history, NCSS mission and vision statements, and more. Students may submit artwork, preferably in color, on 8 ½ by 11 inch, white paper to Ms. Sherri Davis, Director of Public Relations for Newton County Schools, by Friday, January 22, 2021. A parent permission form must be included with submission. Forms may be found on the NCSS website at www.newtoncountyschools.org.

Winning designs will be selected by the superintendent and showcased on NCSS social media accounts throughout the month of February 2021. Artwork may also be used on celebratory t-shirts to be sold with proceeds earmarked for the NCSS Book Bus.
