Partners in education play a vital role in the success of Newton County’s schools as community involvement is one of the resourceful ways that schools strengthen and enrich their educational programs. Fairview Elementary School and NEW LIFE Praise Center have developed a very strong partnership over the years and that partnership continues to flourish despite the current COVID-19 pandemic. Although the pandemic has altered their approach to partnership, the Praise Center has continued to support the school to help meet the needs of students and staff. On March 9, 2021, pastors Justin and Tiffany Adams presented school principal, Dr. LaMoyne Brunson with a check for $500.
“I am so proud to support Fairview again this year as a Partner in Education,” said Pastor Justin Adams. “NEW LIFE connected with Fairview in 2016 and it’s been a great partnership. Over these years, our interactions with the school have included providing meals for the staff and monthly mentoring of the Born2BMen student group. We’ve sponsored field trips, I’ve participated as a guest speaker at special events such as Career Day, and we’ve supported other events including Spring Musicals. It’s a great privilege to be part of Fairview.”
He added, “This year, to follow COVID precautions, we are not coming on-campus like we did in previous years, so our Board decided to make a monetary donation and allow the school to decide how they can use this support.”
“We will use this donation for several special events this year,” Dr. Brunson explained. “It will be used to purchase a Staff Appreciation Week meal in May. We will also purchase incentives for students and staff with it. We can do many good things with this money! I really appreciate the support of NEW LIFE and all our great Partners. Support like this is a big part of the positive school climate at Fairview.”
