NCSS Announces Little Scholars Summer Program for Rising Kindergarten and First Grade Students
FLYER:
Little Scholars Summer Program
Looking for something fun and educational for your young student to do this summer? NCSS has the answer—the Little Scholars Program for rising kindergarten and first grade students. This unique, fun, and free summer program will take place Mondays through Thursdays from June 14 through July 15, 2021 at Live Oak Elementary and Newton County Theme School. Hours of operation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
At Little Scholars, students will participate in fun, engaging activities as they visit five different themes. The themes are Blasting Off into Space, Diving into the Deep Blue Sea, Into the Great Outdoors, Down on the Farm, and a Safari in the Savanna. Each week, students will rotate to a new theme. During each theme, students will focus on academic standards that will build the foundation students need to be successful in school.
Little Scholars will provide activities in reading, vocabulary, writing, and math. Science and social studies will be integrated through hands-on and engaging activities. The program will have a strong emphasis on phonics, sight words, and early numeracy. Skills taught during this program will be based on the Georgia Standards of Excellence, giving students a head start for the 2021-2022 school year. The program is free for NCSS students entering kindergarten and first grade. Meals and modified transportation will be provided.
Registration is limited at each location. To register your child for this program, visit the following link:
