NCSS Self-Paced Virtual Instruction Program Announces Registration Dates for 2023-2024 School Year
The Newton County School System Self-Paced Virtual Instruction Program, which provides services for grades 3-12, will open registration for the 2023-2024 school year on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, through Thursday, March 23, 2023. Below this announcement, you will find the link to register. Please note the link will not be active until the March 1, 2023, at 9:00 AM. Please do not attempt to register until then. All students interested in attending the VIP program next school year must complete this form by March 23 at 9:00 AM. Please understand that registration into the program is for the entire 2023-2024 school year.
If your student is failing more than one class, he/she is ineligible to attend the VIP program in 2023-2024.
“Our goal is to ensure that we are giving our students the best chance to succeed, and self-paced learning can be a challenge for some,” said Dr. Brian Merritt, NCSS VIP Coordinator. “So please note this change within our registration.”
Merritt noted there will be a question on the registration link regarding classes passed/failed.
“When we activate the registration link, you will need to click on the link, answer the questions, and press submit,” Merritt explained. “Once submitted, please know that we have your submission, and there is no reason to call or email to verify. We have tested the link several times, and it is working correctly. We will scour through the applications daily and begin notifying parents of the status of your student. If you have more than one student that you would like enrolled in the program, you must do separate registrations for each student. Again, thank you all for your support of the program.”
