Immunizations

7th Grade Immunization Requirements

Georgia's immunization requirements for children attending 7th grade have been revised. Beginning in the 2014-2015 school year, 7th graders and new entrants into Georgia schools grades 8th through 12th, will be required to have Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) and MCV (meningococcal conjugate) vaccines prior to entering school.

Parents, please plan to have your child vaccinated well in advance of the start of the school year. Seventh grade students will not receive class schedules unless they have these vaccines. If you have questions please contact your school nurse.

New 11th Grade Immunization Requirements

Georgia's immunization requirements for students entering or transferring into the eleventh grade have been revised to align with the current recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).

Effective July 1, 2021, children 16 years of age and older, who are entering the 11th grade (including new entrants), must have received one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.

Parents, please plan to have your child vaccinated well in advance of the start of the school year. Juniors may be sent home until proof of vaccine is provided. If you have questions please contact your school nurse.
