The Newton County School System is providing meals to your children – for free!
During the first semester, the school system has offered two primary instructional tracks—in person and virtual. However, for the short term, we have shifted to an all-virtual model. For those students who chose the virtual track at the beginning of the semester, the meal pick-up process has not changed.
In-person students who have been temporarily moved to the virtual track can obtain free meals (breakfast and lunch) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the nearest school, or, pick up the meals from one of our designated bus stop delivery locations. Please refer to our
online bus route schedule (to determine the location and timing of the meal delivery stop closest to your residence.
Additionally, weekly meal supplies are still available for pick-up on Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 pm at the following elementary schools:
• Heard-Mixon
• Live Oak
• Middle Ridge
• Oak Hill
• West Newton
Furthermore, we are temporarily establishing stops to deliver daily meals (including weekend meals on Fridays) in the following areas. The table below provides information regarding the approximate timeframes each bus will be at each stop. Note: These are subject to change.
